Nationwide growth of * UnitedHealthcare * leads to North Carolina jobs

UnitedHealthcare added more than 1.5 million new customers in 2012 and plans to create 573 jobs in North Carolina to support those customers.  Most of the jobs will be in the Greensboro area, in addition to the almost 540 jobs added in 2012.

UnitedHealthcare serves more than 40 million U.S. customers leading to the need for more customer service representatives and claims processors as well as registered nurses and nurse practitioners, who will provide home health care through the new HouseCalls program.

UnitedHealth Group currently employs more than 4,000 North Carolinians in its UnitedHealthcare benefits business and its Optum Health services.
